Picture yourself walking into a pitch dark woods, well before sunlight setting down and waiting for the sun to come up, as the sun peaks over the horizon you hear the first, gobble, gobble, gobble..... As your guide yelps the big tom cuts into another furious gobble, you sit tight and ……………..……………………..

Our hunts take place in Southern Michigan and we have some of the biggest, thickest bearded turkeys in the country. Michigan has the 3rd largest population of turkeys in the country and they say within a few years because of the excellent croplands and nesting cover we could soon be number 1. What I do know is that we have a lot of them and they are an extreme challenge in the field and Michigan has the highest hunter
success ratio in the country!

We have harvested around 70 birds in the last two years. Some of the biggest turkeys have been an 12” - 25lb. tom, many 10 ¾” bearded toms and one of them weighed 26lbs., we even took a couple of toms with 1 ½” spurs. Not everybody got toms, some got jakes but what a fun bird to hunt and they make a great dinner to boot! We are very proactive about our turkey hunting, we move often, so if you are not in a position to be able to move after the birds then let us know and we will make arrangements for a blind and transportation. You need to put in for your permit by Feb. 1st so make sure to make early arrangements.
