WFS in SW Michigan, as the name yells, we specialize in waterfowl hunts. Michigan’s rich dark soil makes for wonderful rolling, sprawling crop land and wooded landscapes, lakes and potholes, and all this combined makes for fantastic waterfowl hunting. Specifically, giant canada geese and puddle ducks! What else could you possibly want? We started this operation long before any other local outfitters. We were the first in the country to commercially outfit for local Canada geese, and in my opinion the hardest and greatest birds in the country to hunt, certianly some of the biggest! Michigan was the first to offer a local canada goose season, around 1986 and after a couple years of figuring them out we started our operation. These birds can be well over 15 years old and many over 20 years of age, they live here year round and grow fat, weighing as much as 20lbs. WFS harvested over 3,000 snow, blue, canada, ross, speckle bellies and ducks last year in two states. We have hunted all over the mid-west, but when you factor everything in, Michigan has to be some of the best giant canada goose hunting and that is why we live and hunt here. In a recent issue of Wildfowl, they stated that Michigan harvests more giant canada geese than any other place on the continent! This is due to many factors but one of the greatest is habitat and Michigan without a doubt has some of the best nesting habitat for geese in the country. Another major factor is that many migrant geese are only migrating as far south as southern Michigan, northern Indiana, and northern Illinois. These geese live and end up breeding with our local geese, they never have to leave to enjoy excellent breeding, nesting, and eating grounds ! The weather is far from unbearable and there are many Canada geese that already live here, there must be a reason to stay! ! ! !

Geese are kind of like people, great food, great drink, safe place to sleep and get fat, so they stay. Our Michigan duck and goose hunts have been featured in WOODS N WATER NEWS, MICHIGAN OUTDOORS MAGAZINE, MICHIGAN SPORTSMAN, FISH AND GAME, and in the fall of 02’ NORTH AMERICAN HUNTER maybe here filming with us for several days for an upcoming waterfowl show.

Yes, Michigan is an outdoor paradise with great waterfowl, deer and turkey hunting. We offer the best in giant canada goose hunting, and we are second to only Texas with the amount of deer, and in the top 3 states for eastern wild turkeys of all states in the country!

September 1st & 2nd - $150.00 per gun. A third day can also be reserved for an additional $125.00 per gun. (3 bird limit)

September 3rd-15th - $125.00 per gun (3 bird limit)

September 17th – October 7th - $100.00 per gun (2 bird limit)

 

December 31st& January 1st - $150.00 per gun. This hunt not only includes hunting for your 3 bird limit of giant canada geese but also puddle ducks during Michigan's special two day late duck season. Imagine the Fun you could have ! ! !
